 What is ULD?
ULD is the abbreviation of Unit Load Device, which is the consolidation equipment used for loading cargo in international air transportation, it can be a container or a container board with a consolidation net.
  Second, the role of ULD?
All cargo loaded on the airplane needs to be fixed, otherwise it may move during the flight and cause damage to the cargo itself or the inner wall of the airport. The ULD is used to fix the cargo, which can be loaded on the ULD first and then fixed in the airplane.

Classification of ULD
  ---Container
Used to carry general cargo, baggage and mail, such as: AMA | AMF | ALF | AKE.
  ----Refrigerated containers
Mainly used for transportation of fresh goods, such as fruits, vegetables, seafood, etc.. For example: RKN.
  ----Collector plate and collector net
A consolidation plate is a flat aluminum plate. Cargo is placed on the board and fixed by rope net. This kind is the most common in air cargo.

Whenever an airline receives a shipment, it arranges for the shipment to be loaded on the pallet, which is then secured by a rope net. The weight of the pallet is around 105-480KG, and sometimes this weight will be allocated to different shippers according to the ratio, so the actual billing weight will be a little more than the weight of the shipment. If the shipper has a good relationship with the airline, the allocated weight will be less or will not be allocated.
