Container wharf

Container wharf is able to accommodate the complete container loading and unloading operation process of the place, is the hub station of land and water transport, is the buffer of container cargo in the conversion mode of transport, is also the cargo handover point, therefore, the container terminal in the whole container transport process occupies an important position.
According to the container wharf loading and unloading operations, business management needs, the container terminal should be the following main facilities.

1.Wharf
Berthing facilities are mainly composed of quay shoreline and quay wall. Wharf shoreline is for the port loading and unloading container ships to dock, the length of the main technical parameters of the docked ship and the relevant safety regulations; wharf wall is generally a container ship docked when the required mooring facilities, the wall with a bollard for the ship to dock through the cable will be tethered to the ship, the wall should also be set up to prevent collision device.

2.Frontier
Quay front is along the quay wall to the container arrangement field (or grouping field) between the quay area, with shore container crane and its running track. The width of the quay front can be based on the span of the shore container crane and the use of other loading and unloading machinery types, generally about 40m.

3.Container Marshalling Yard
Container marshalling yard is also known as the front yard, is ready to be loaded on board the container arrangement to be loaded and for the upcoming unloading of the container ready for the site and stacking position, usually arranged in between the front of the terminal and container yard, the main role is to ensure that the ship loading and unloading operations quickly and uninterrupted. Usually the containers are arranged on the container yard according to the size of the containers in advance with a white or yellow line phoenixing the square on the site, with the "box number" coded on the box, so that when the containers are loaded on board, they can be found according to the ship's load chart and then sequentially loaded on board.

4.Container Yard (CY)
Container yards, also known as back yards, are places where containers are handed over, heavy boxes are stored and safety checks are performed, and some also include storage sites for chassis vehicles. The size of the yard area must adapt to the requirements of the container throughput, should be based on the loading capacity of the ship type and to the port of the ship density, loading and unloading process system, the container in the yard on the arrangement of the form of calculation, analysis and so on to determine. Container in the yard arrangement form generally have "vertical and horizontal arrangement method" (that is, the container according to the vertical or horizontal arrangement, this method is applied more), "herringbone arrangement method" (that is, the container in the yard put into "herringbone "glyph", applicable to the chassis car loading and unloading operations).

5.Container Freight Station (CFS)
Some are located within the terminal, and some are located outside the terminal. Freight station is the unpacking and containerization of goods, and storage of these goods, protection and receipt and delivery of the operation site, the main task is to receive the export of LCL goods, containerization, import of LCL goods unpacking, delivery, etc.. Freight station should be equipped with unpacking and site stacking with small loading and unloading machinery and related equipment, the size of the freight station should be based on the unpacking volume and imbalance comprehensive determination.

6.Control Tower
This is the command center of container wharf operations. The main task is to monitor and direct the ship loading and unloading operations and yard operations. Control tower should be located in the highest part of the wharf, so that you can clearly see all the containers in the wharf and all operations.

7.Gate
This is the entrance and exit of the container wharf, but also to divide the responsibility of the container terminal and other departments of the place. All containers entering and exiting the container wharf are checked at the gate house, handover procedures are carried out and relevant documents are produced.

8.Maintenance Shop
This is the container and its special machinery for inspection, repair and maintenance of the place. Maintenance shop size should be based on the rate of damage to the container, the repair period, the type of vehicles and handling machinery used in the terminal, the number and overhaul content to determine. Maintenance workshop should be equipped with maintenance equipment.

9.Container Washing Station
The main task is to clean the container dirt, washing, generally located in the back and equipped with a variety of cleaning facilities.

10.Terminal Building
Container wharf office building is the container terminal administration, business management of the main camp, has basically realized the electronic management, and finally achieve the automation of management.
