DDP Ocean Shipping from China to the United States means the goods will be sent first by container ships from China to Los Angeles, then after unloading, the packages will be delivered to Amazon Warehouse or any inland destination by UPS or FedEx Express or truck. It’s a door to door, tax included service. 

1.Matson’s China – Long Beach Express

Matson, an American transportation-services company, offers two expedited services shipping from China to the U.S.- China – Long Beach Express (CLX) and China – Long Beach Express Plus (CLX+), which is distinguished by fast transit time and dependable vessel schedules. And now, Matson offers expedited service direct to Oakland as well, with China-California Express (CCX).

Matson’s “right sized“ vessels (smaller than other international container ships), private destination port, and dedicated terminal facility allow the first transit time, faster loading and unloading of the cargoes. 



The following will introduce those three services:

CLX: 
Route: Shanghai-Ningbo(-Xiamen)-Long Beach
Transit time to Long Beach: 10-15 days
After unloading the containers in Long Beach and customs clearance, the packages will be transported to Amazon’s warehouse or delivered to other inland destination. The whole process may take 18 days approx. to deliver goods to west coast’s destination, and 24 days approx. to east coast’s destination. 
Minimum weight: 21 KGS
Average price: US$ 2.7/KG (100KG+)

CLX +: 
CLX+ offers the same fast service as CLX, plus additional Matson capacity and a second China to the U.S. West coast crossing each week on a back-to-back schedule with CLX.
The unique difference is that CLX+ will arrived at PIER A-the port owned and operated by Matson JV, while CLX will arrive at EXCLUSIVE USE TERMINAL. The facilities of PIER A is shared by Matson and other shipping companies, so unloading on PIER A may take a longer time.


CCX: It’s a seasonal expedited service from China to Oakland and Long Beach. 
Route: Shanghai-Ningbo(-Xiamen)-Long Beach
Transit time to Oakland: 12-17 days
Transit time to Long Beach: 15-20 days



2.Shenzhen (Yantian)-Los Angeles-UPS Express
Shenzhen (Yantian)-Los Angeles Express Service is offered by carriers like ZIM, CMA, COSCO, EMC, CMA etc., departed from Shenzhen to Los Angeles. The transit time is 12 to 14 days from Shenzhen to LA, then the packages will be delivered by UPS express. The whole process may take 22 days approx. to deliver goods to west coast’s destination, and 25 days approx. to east coast’s destination. 
Minimum weight: 51 KGS
Average price: US$ 2.23/KG (100KG+)

3.Shenzhen (Yantian)-Los Angeles-Truck delivery
The shipping service from Shenzhen (Yantian) to LA is exactly the same with the former way. After unloading the containers, the packages will be delivered by truck rather than by express service. Delivery by truck has no guarantee of delivery time, because it depends on the route of the truck, quantities and locations of all the packages. The whole transit time may take 25 to 27 days. In special times, for example, in 2021, the transit time took 48 to 60 days due to labor shortage and other social reasons.
Minimum volume: 2 CBM/300KG
