When LCL is shipped by sea, the cost of the destination port is sometimes very high, sometimes even several times the value of the goods. Therefore, when choosing LCL, it is recommended to also understand the port of destination cost. The port of destination fee is composed of these three parts: the port of destination operation fee, agent customs clearance fee and import tariff.

The specific details of the port of destination are different in different countries and ports, and there is no uniform standard. It is recommended that the guests understand the cost details with their own port of destination customs clearance agent. E.g:
STRIPPING CHARGE
TERMINAL HANDLING CHARGE
AMENDMENT FEE
DELIVERY ORDER FEE
BREAK BULK FEES
TERMINAL TRANSFER FEE
If the customer chooses LCL shipping, the matters needing attention are as follows:

1.The reference cost of the destination port must be confirmed in writing with the freight forwarder. Although customs clearance fees and tariffs cannot be prepaid, the approximate details of the port of destination operating costs can be known in advance, so you can ask the freight forwarder to provide a detailed list of the port of destination costs.

2.Although guests get the schedule of port of destination charges, the schedule is only for reference. The final port charges need to be based on the actual bill of the port of destination.

3.The cost of the destination port is calculated on a daily basis. Therefore, when the goods arrive at the destination port, the guest should arrange customs clearance and delivery in time to avoid the free storage period, which leads to higher and higher destination port costs.
