1. What is certificate of origin?
The certificate of origin is divided into general certificate of origin and GSP certificate of origin (GSP means Generalized System of Preferences). The full name of the general certificate of origin is CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN, referred to as C.O., which is a kind of certificate of origin. The C.O. is a certification document used to prove the place of manufacture of the relevant exported goods. It is a certificate of the "origin" of the goods in international trade. Under certain circumstances, the importing country will give different tariff treatments to the imported goods.
2. What kind of certificate of origin have?
(1) Non-preferential certificate of origin-"Certificate of Origin of the People's Republic of China"
It is commonly referred to as the "general certificate of origin", or referred to as C.O. certificate. This certificate is a certificate of origin issued for Chinese export goods.
For products that only carry out simple processing and assembly in China and have not obtained the qualification of Chinese origin, you can apply for a "certificate of processing and assembly".

(3) Special certificate of origin
A special certificate of origin is a certificate of origin stipulated by an international organization or country for a specific product in a special industry in accordance with the needs of rectification and trade measures. The products listed on the special certificate of origin belong to a specific product in a particular industry.
3. The role of certificate of origin
For the importing country, the role of the certificate of origin issued by the exporting country is mainly reflected in the following five aspects:
(1) The main basis for determining the tax rate and treatment;
(2) An important basis for conducting trade statistics;
(3) The basis for the implementation of import quantity control, anti-dumping, countervailing and other foreign trade management measures;
(4) Control the import of goods from specific countries and determine the basis for approval or disapproval;
(5) The basis for proving the intrinsic quality of the goods or the foreign exchange settlement.
