When you make your purchases from China, generally you can think of three forms of transport that are: sea shipping, air shipping and international courier. However, a question arises from these three options: What is the ideal way to transport your goods from China to Venezuela? Below we will be answering these questions.
MARITIME TRANSPORTATION
This type of shipment is mainly used for large volume loads that do not require a rapid delivery. In most cases, importers choose this type of shipment because it is much cheaper and safer.
You can reserve a FCL (Full Container Loading) or a LCL (Less than Container Loading, for your smaller volume shipments) according to the cubic meters of your merchandise.
Below we prepare the reference rate table so that you have an idea of the current transport cost now that due to the pandemic, maritime freight rates have been increasing constantly and many interested or newcomers in the world of import from China are still unaware of the serious situation.
Container prices from China to Venezuela:
Keep in mind that the exact prices vary depending on the port of origin / destination and the moment time of reservation of the container. It is recommended to make this reservation as far in advance as possible to guarantee the availability of free space and achieve the best price since the closer to the ship's departure date, the higher the freight quoted by the shipping companies.
It’s currently taking approximately more than 45 days to arrive in Venezuela once the ship departs from the ports of China. We advise you to manage everything as far in advance as possible, since many agents are involved throughout the import process and there are some issues out of your hands, such as customs procedures and delays in transshipment ports in the current context of the pandemic. To avoid errors that could delay the arrival of your merchandise, the minimum anticipation time that you should consider to manage import operations by sea from China are 3 months.
AIR TRANSPORTATION
This is the second most used type of shipment when importing from China and is typically used for urgent shipments, small and light quantities and items that require greater security. Air shipping costs are usually the most expensive, but it is generally a much faster method compared to others.
The airports in China that have international cargo flights are located in the main cities such as Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shanghai and from there it usually takes about 7-10 days to reach the Caracas or Maracaibo Airport.
It is preferable to send merchandise of more than 100 kilos by plane. In general, the freight is currently more than US$ 10 per kilo. The exact rate depends on the location of the suppliers, type of merchandise, weight and size of the packages, etc. So if you want to send your cargo by airlines to Venezuela and you need to make sure of the final cost, do not hesitate to contact us, we will give you a comprehensive and clear answer.
INTERNATIONAL COURIER
Now, if you are looking for an urgent delivery of your goods, or they are high value products, or small packages that neither weigh more than 100 kilos nor occupy more than 1m³, the Express / Courier service may be an optimal solution.
This shipping method can be defined as a type of Door-to-Door delivery since the courier companies will take care of customs procedures at the destination (while duties and taxes will be borne by the recipient). Once the cargo is nationalized, it will be delivered to the final address, so it is very convenient for customers who do not have an import license but want to start buying a minimum amount of products from China.
However, it should be noted that the load is not guaranteed to be released 100% smoothly. If the Venezuelan customs requires some additional documents for clearance, the courier company will communicate with the recipient asking for the corresponding documents and that may take a while.
The 5 most famous international courier companies are DHL, FEDEX, UPS, TNT and EMS. We work mainly with the first 3 for shipments to Venezuela since they provide a greater guarantee regarding transit time and delivery security.
Let's make a comparison of these 3 companies and see their differences on price and speed.
Sending packages over 21kg to Venezuela:
Note: For each weight range 0.5kg-21kg, 21-31kg and 32-50kg a different rate is handled. For packages less than 21kg, the price is more expensive and is charged for each 0.5kg. For packages over 21kgs, the calculation begins per kilo. It is recommended to send cargo over 21kg.
