International parcel logistics shipping process
2022-08-10 10:07
1. The shipper looks for a freight forwarder and inquires about relevant information: price, payment method, delivery address, shipping process, services provided by the forwarder, shipping time limit, and terms of compensation for the goods.
2. The shipper provides detailed information about the goods: name, weight, package size, and information about the recipient.
3. After the goods are delivered to the freight forwarder's warehouse, the warehouse staff weighs, sorts, measures the goods, prints the documents, pastes the AWB, packs the goods and delivers them to the airport.
4. The goods are distinguished from general cargo/special cargo and sent to the corresponding airport for cargo handling, weighing, printing documents, and commercial inspection waiting for warehousing. If the goods fail the security check at the airport and cannot be put into the warehouse, they will be returned. If the goods pass the security check at the airport, it means that the goods have no problems.
5. The shipper can choose the customs broker by himself or entrust the freight forwarder to make customs declaration. Usually freight forwarders will help their clients with this process. If the consignor has its own customs broker or has its own customs clearance capability, it can carry out the operation itself.
6. When the goods arrive at the destination, the local customs will examine, check, tax and then release the goods.
Document examination: Customs will examine the goods and documents according to the declaration information.
Inspection: Customs will conduct random inspection (to avoid contraband goods entering the local area).
Tax collection: Customs collects tax according to the category of goods and in accordance with national laws.
After the above audit and inspection, the goods will be released to the corresponding customs clearance company / customs broker.
7. After the customs clearance agent gets the goods, the goods are handed over to the dispatching agent.
8. The delivery agent will deliver the goods according to the AWB.
9. The goods are signed for.
