Latest Ranking of Top 10 Global Container Liner Lines in terms of Capacity

According to Alphaliner's latest data, as of September 20, 2024, the number of container ships in operation around the world totaled 7,015, with a total capacity of about 30.763 million TEU（containers）.

The top three global liner companies in terms of capacity are Mediterranean Shipping Company MSC, Maersk and CMA CGM, of which the existing capacity of Mediterranean Shipping Company MSC has already exceeded 6.1 million TEU, occupying a market share as high as 20%.

The shipping companies ranked from the 4th to the 10th in order of capacity are: COSCO, Hapag-Lloyd, ONE, Evergreen Line, HMM, ZIM and Yang Ming Marine. The top 10 liner shipping companies account for 84.4% of the global market in terms of total available capacity.
