Maximum Weight and Size requirements for international courier

• DHL: the maximum weight per box is 68 kg
• ARAMEX: the maximum weight per box is 30KG
• Max length size is 120cm

How to calculate the international courier shipment weight?

If you are shipping a large but light shipment that the volumetric weight exceeds the actual (scale) weight, the cost of the shipment is based on the space it occupies on the aircraft. It is an IATA standard method.

Calculation method of volumetric weight by international express: length (cm) x width (cm) x height (cm) / 5000

If the volumetric weight is bigger than the physical weight, it will be charged by the volumetric weight. Otherwise, it will be charged for the physical weight of the scale.
For example: The measurement of a carton is 50CM * 60CM * 70CM, and the actual weight of the scale is 30KG. Its volumetric weight is 50CM * 60CM * 70CM / 5000 = 42KG, so the shipping weight is 42KG.

What is the difference between international courier service and air transport?

International courier:
It is the most expensive method of transportation. However, it is also the most efficient and fastest. It is an excellent way of shipping for documents or packages less than 100KG. The time of arrival of your merchandise is 3 to 7 business days.

Courier services are provided by companies such as FEDEX, DHL and UPS. By using the courier service, you don't have to worry much about your orders, since they are in charge of customs services and deliver your goods to your home address.

Note: None of DHL, FEDEX, UPS company can guarantee that there will be no problem with customs clearance. If the customs office of destination requests additional documents, DHL, FEDEX AND UPS will contact the recipient immediately.

Air Transport:

Air transport is cheaper than courier and also reaches the final destination very quickly. On average, it takes between two and ten business days for your order to arrive. However, air companies require that the minimum weight is 45 KG.

Unlike the courier service, the cargo will only arrive at the destination airport, in addition, customs clearance will be your responsibility. You can do it on your own or hire an agent to do the nationalization process for you.

This agent charges a fee to perform the service. The rate is estimated to be USD150 or 0.5% of the value of the merchandise, depending on the agent you will hire.

The service of the international express is door to door?

Yes, it is a door-to-door delivery service but the duties and taxes are not included.
Dhl, Fedex, Ups, Tnt, Ems, Aramex helps the consignee do the customs processing at the destination, it does not mean that it guarantees that the cargo will be released 100%.

If the customs of destination requires to additional clearance documents, DHL, FEDEX, UPS, TNT and ARAMEX will contact the consignee requesting the appropriate documents and then process the customs clearance.
Once the cargo is released from customs, they will deliver the goods to your address.

Who is responsible for paying duties and taxes when shipping via international courier?

The payment of import duties and taxes is the responsibility of the consignee, the calculation of duties depends on the product's customs code, the value of the invoice, the country of origin and customs of the destination country.

Do you have the minimum weight of international courier?

We recommend every shipment more than 21KG for the following 2 reasons:

1. For international shipments from China to other countries with the weight less than 21KG, the freight is usually higher than the value of the goods.
2. A shipment less than 21KG is considered small parcel. The freight is not calculated per kilo, it is charged according to a price of the first 0.5KG, another price for the continuous every 0.5KG. Once the weight of the merchandise is changed, it makes it difficult for the customer to automatically calculate the shipping costs .
